As the cost of healthcare continues to rise, there is an increasing number of services that are not covered by the Ministry of Health that require significant time and resources to administer. The fees for these uninsured services are the responsibility of the patient or third-party organization requesting the service. A few examples of these uninsured services include: ​ Prescription renewals through phone/fax insurance forms Illness/Return-to-work notes and many others (see list below) ​ We have created two options going forward to help better service you with providing these uninsured services whenever required. OPTION 1 – ANNUAL/ BLOCK FEE PROGRAM This option is a one-time fee covering a full calendar year. This fee will cover a number of the uninsured services. OPTION 2 – FEE FOR SERVICE Pay for individual services, as they are required throughout the year. FOR EXAMPLE – Prescription Renewals by Phone/Fax – If you sign up for the Annual Fee Program, you would be covered for this service for the whole year. If you opt for Fee for Service, there is a charge for each prescription renewal request, without an appointment. This charge will also apply to auto-fax requests generated by your Pharmacy. If you wish your Pharmacy not to auto-fax prescriptions, you must inform them. We are using DOCTORS SERVICES for the administration of this plan. Please see below for the payment methods (receipts will be provided for Income Tax purposes). 1. Online payment – using debit or credit card – visit www.doctorsservices.ca/online-payment 2.
